Bedsure Dog Bed Review: The Best Ultra-Budget Option?

Bedsure Dog Bed Review: The Best Ultra-Budget Option?

Bedsure is the dog bed you've seen everywhere.

Scroll through Amazon's best-sellers and there it is thousands of reviews, prices under $30, and claims of orthopedic support. It sounds too good to be true.

So I bought several to test with our 6 dogs. After months of real-world use, here's my honest assessment of whether Bedsure delivers on its promises or if you get what you pay for.

Bottom Line: Bedsure is the best ultra-budget dog bed available. You get real orthopedic foam, a waterproof liner, and a washable cover for under $30-40. It won't last years like premium beds, but for the price, it's remarkable value. Perfect for budget buyers, puppies, or testing what style your dog prefers.

What Is Bedsure?

Bedsure started as a bedding company for humans and expanded into pet products. They've become one of Amazon's best-selling pet bed brands by offering:

  • Ultra-low prices – Often under $30
  • Orthopedic foam options – CertiPUR-US certified
  • Waterproof liners included – Rare at this price
  • Machine washable covers
  • Wide size range

They're not competing with Big Barker or Casper, they're competing with the cheapest beds on the market. And at that level, they're excellent.

Bedsure Product Range

Bedsure offers several dog bed styles:

Main Options

StyleDescriptionBest ForAction
Orthopedic Flat Rectangular, no bolsters Crates, sprawlers View Options
Orthopedic Bolster 3 or 4-sided bolsters Chin-resters, nesters
Calming Donut Round, raised edges Small dogs, curlers
Memory Foam Higher-density foam Better support
Egg-Crate Foam Budget foam option Entry-level

Sizes Available

  • Small (24" x 18")
  • Medium (30" x 20")
  • Large (36" x 27")
  • XL (42" x 32")
  • XL Plus (44" x 32")

The range covers most dogs from Chihuahuas to large breeds.

My Experience: Testing Bedsure

What We Tested

We purchased multiple Bedsure beds:

  • Orthopedic Memory Foam (Large) – For general testing
  • Orthopedic Bolster (Medium) – For Molly (French Bulldog)
  • Flat Crate Pad (XL) – For crate use

First Impressions

Unboxing: Beds arrive compressed. The foam expands within a few hours, though some users report it takes overnight to fully expand.

Initial quality: Better than expected for the price. The covers feel decent, zippers work, and the foam has some substance. The waterproof liner is a genuine bonus at this price point.

Dogs' reactions: All dogs used the beds without hesitation. No complaints from the canine panel.

After Several Months

The foam has compressed. This is the trade-off with budget beds. After a few months of daily use, the foam is noticeably thinner. It still provides some cushioning, but nowhere near the original loft.

The cover has held up reasonably. Multiple washes and the cover is still intact. Some pilling on the sherpa surface, but no tears.

The bolsters flattened quickly. The bolster version looked plush initially, but the polyester fill compressed within weeks. The bolsters are now quite flat.

The waterproof liner works. Tested with a deliberate water spill the foam stayed dry. This alone makes Bedsure worth considering.

What I Love

The Price

Let's be honest this is why most people buy Bedsure. Under $30 for an orthopedic dog bed with a waterproof liner is remarkable.

At this price, you can:

  • Buy beds for multiple dogs affordably
  • Test different styles without major investment
  • Replace beds frequently without guilt
  • Equip a puppy knowing they'll outgrow it

Waterproof Liner Included

Most budget beds skip waterproof protection. Bedsure includes it. For dogs who have accidents or puppies in training, this is genuinely valuable.

The liner sits between the foam and cover, protecting against liquid penetration.

CertiPUR-US Certified Foam

The foam is legitimately certified not just marketing claims. CertiPUR-US means it meets standards for content, emissions, and durability.

Machine Washable

The cover removes easily and washes well. For a budget bed, washability is solid.

Wide Availability

Bedsure is everywhere Amazon, Chewy, Walmart. Easy to buy, easy to replace.

30-Day Returns

If your dog hates it, Bedsure offers hassle-free returns within 30 days.

What I Don't Love

Foam Compresses Quickly

The biggest issue. Budget foam doesn't maintain its shape like premium foam. Expect significant compression within 3-6 months of regular use.

For heavy dogs or daily use, the bed essentially becomes a thin pad relatively quickly.

Bolsters Flatten Fast

If you buy a bolster version, don't expect the bolsters to stay plush. The polyester fill compresses rapidly. Within a few weeks, our bolsters were noticeably flat.

Runs Small

Bedsure sizing runs small. The "large" (36" x 27") is the full bed including bolsters the actual sleeping area is much smaller (around 26" x 20").

Size up. Always go one size larger than you think you need.

Not for Heavy Dogs

Dogs over 60-70 lbs will compress the foam quickly. For large and giant breeds, budget beds simply don't provide enough support or durability.

Some Quality Inconsistency

Reviews mention occasional issues foam that doesn't match descriptions, quality variations between batches. This seems to happen with high-volume budget manufacturing.

Short Lifespan

Realistically, expect 6-12 months of good use before the bed needs replacing. That's fine at $25 less fine if you expected years of service.

Who Should Buy Bedsure?

Definitely Buy If:

✅ Budget is your primary concern

✅ You're buying for a puppy (they'll outgrow it anyway)

✅ You want to test what style your dog prefers

✅ You need beds for multiple dogs affordably

✅ Your dog is small to medium-sized (under 50 lbs)

✅ You're okay replacing the bed every 6-12 months

Maybe Consider If:

⚠️ Your dog is 50-70 lbs (may compress quickly)

⚠️ You want bolsters (they flatten fast)

⚠️ You expect it to last years

Don't Buy If:

❌ Your dog weighs over 70 lbs (get something sturdier)

❌ Your dog has serious joint issues (get proper orthopedic support)

❌ You want a long-term investment

❌ Your dog is a chewer (not chew-resistant at all)

Tips for Getting the Most from Bedsure

1. Size Up

Always order one size larger than you think you need. The sleep area is smaller than the stated dimensions.

4. Wash Regularly

Regular washing extends bed life. Clean covers stay fresher longer and the bed remains more hygienic.

5. Keep for Specific Uses

Bedsure works great as:

The Bottom Line

Bedsure is the best ultra-budget dog bed available.

You get real orthopedic foam (CertiPUR-US certified), an included waterproof liner, and a machine-washable cover for under $30. That's genuinely impressive.

The trade-off is longevity. Expect 6-12 months of good use, not years. The foam compresses, the bolsters flatten, and you'll eventually replace it.

But here's the thing: At $25-35, that's okay. You're not investing hundreds you're spending what some people spend on a few coffees. If it lasts 8 months, you've paid roughly $3-4 per month for a comfortable dog bed with waterproof protection.

Best for:

  • Budget-conscious buyers
  • Puppies
  • Multiple-dog households
  • Testing what style your dog likes
  • Crate beds
  • Secondary/travel beds

Not best for:

  • Heavy dogs (70+ lbs)
  • Dogs needing serious joint support
  • Long-term investment

For the right situation, Bedsure is excellent value. Just know what you're buying.
